Three years, three days

May 30th, 2009 • Posted in Random Stuff |

My mum died three years ago today.  It feels like three days.

I wouldn’t be a reader without her having introduced me to the joy of books, and I wouldn’t have become a writer without her encouragement and enthusiasm.  At my first ever book launch she cried with pride.

Thanks for the way you put my hat on, Mum.

It is two years ago, next week, since my father passed away ,from cancer, and I wonder if the “I’ve got to call Dad (Mum) with this news” instinct ever fades. Too short a life, but plenty of great memories.
