Pay the Ghost

Pay the Ghost, the movie based on my short story of the same name, is filming now in Toronto.  It stars Nicolas Cage, Sarah Wayne Callies, Veronica Ferres and others, and is directed by Uli Edel.  Here are just a few photos from set that I’ve found on random net searches.  I’m not directly involved, so I’m not getting to hear about what’s going on directly from producers or director.

As well as extremely exciting––what writer doesn’t want a movie made from one of their stories?––it also feels quite strange knowing that this is happening several thousand miles away.  I wrote the original story 15 years ago for a Cemetery Dance anthology, October Dreams, and it probably took me 3 or 4 days to write.  And now, because of that idea I had so long ago, scores of people are building sets, operating equipment, acting, directing, and crewing a big movie shoot starring NICOLAS CAGE!  I’d never have believed it.  And I still pinch myself.

As and when I know more about the movie, or find more shots of the set, I’ll post them here and on my Facebook page.  And as soon as I get information on release dates, etc, you’ll be the first to know.
