It’s already been said a thousand times today, but I’ll just add my own voice: we’re living through historic times. Many of my American friends have been in touch to tell me how they feel good about their country again. The optimism and joy on display these last 24 hours have been refreshing and contagious, and at a time when most news seems to be shite … well, Hope is the word they’re using.
Many people, me included, never thought they’d live to see the day. Glad I did.

Here’s one American who never felt bad about his country, just the executive administration we’ve had for the past 8 years.
But really I stopped by to tell you how good your story _Forever_, is. It’s rare to find dark fantasy that really is dark enough and well-done enough to satisfy me.
The _Elric_ series_, _Urth of the New Sun_, as well as works by Howard, Smith, & Lovecraft (also Jack Vance and Fritz Leiber, a great deal of the time) are the only ones that usually do it for me. Plenty others promise, but rarely deliver. Thank you for your delivery!
I’m also going to read it over again to teach myself how to write better fiction. The story just works so damn well!
I saw _Dusk_ on a shelf a couple of years ago, thought it sounded intriguing and read well, then put it back. “I don’t have much time for novels any more…maybe in a few months when my business is going better.”
Well it’s about time I picked up fiction again. My first night involved Neil Gaiman. Last night & today involved you. I’m happy for that. Will start on _Dusk_ soon.

“Still Hopeful?” No, things have gotten worse. The greenhorn leftinger Obama is a complete disaster-on par with being a 21st century Jimmy Carter. We’re certainly living through historic times. 🙁
