Sir Arthur C Clarke
It’s with sadness that I heard of the death of Arthur C Clarke. Just last week, I picked up his PS Publishing collection TALES FROM THE WHITE HEART, a fascinating collection of delightful, intriguing and sometimes slightly disturbing stories, and I’m almost at the end. I haven’t read a book by him in years, and it’s weird to open that cover now, see his signature, and think that the great man has touched this page.
He lived a long, fascinating life. He gave a lot to the world, in both his writing and his scientific endeavours, and I have fond memories of being scared witless by the opening titles of Arthur C Clarke’s Mysterious World when it was shown on TV. Truly one of the greats, and the world’s a better place for him.
