News round-up
It’s been a while since I’ve posted any updates here, so sorry, but there are a few things happening which I’d like to share with you.
Firstly, the limited edition of THE NATURE OF BALANCE will now be published by an American publisher, not Imaginary Worlds. I’ll give you more details when contracts are signed and everything is cleared up, but it should see the light of day around mid-September.
Secondly, my novella WHITE has been optioned by a London Production company. How excited am I about this? Just a little! Again I’ll give more details when contracts are signed etc, but it’s all ongoing.
I’m about to deliver my short novel UNTIL SHE SLEEPS to Cemetery Dance Publications. I’ve had a lot of fun writing this and I hope it comes over in the writing. It’s the tale of how the resting place of a centuries-old witch is disturbed, and how the nightmares she’d spent her life drawing from people – hey, there are good witches, you know! – are released upon the village. This should be released late this year from Cemetery Dance.
Next: I’m working on an essay about the inspiration for my novel FACE (due soon from Night Shade Books). This will form a chapbook which will be a part of the limited edition of the book. I’ll then be writing a new story for Cemetery Dance Magazine, which should appear in issue 36 alongside an interview with yours truly. And also in the next few weeks I’ll be starting CHANGING OF FACE, the second novella I’m doing for Pete Crowther’s PS Publishing. It’s a sequel to NAMING OF PARTS (the first of three), and I’ve been itching to start it for months and months. Now, I can.
COMPETITION!
Oh, and it’s about time for another competition. How about this? Answer me this question correctly and you’ll go into a draw for limited edition copies of both THE NATURE OF BALANCE and FACE. It’ll mean waiting three or four months for your prize, but these are going to be two beautiful looking books, believe me.
Question: What’s the first name of my child hero in the novella NAMING OF PARTS?
Email me your answer at tim@lebbon.freeserve.co.uk, mark the subject line COMPETITION.
The closing date is August 31st, 2001.
Bye for now!
