My Big New Deal
Firstly, Happy Christmas to you all.
Secondly, Happy Christmas to me … because Bantam Dell have just bought my two dark fantasy novels DUSK and DAWN! I’ve been waiting to announce this for a while but only had the go ahead from Bantam yesterday (contracts sorted and signed). So, here we are:-)
I’m thrilled. Ecstatic. Bouncing off the ceiling. It feels like the deal I’ve been waiting for all my life. Bantam will be publishing DUSK sometime in early 2006, and DAWN sometime after that (schedule to be decided). I’ve finished DUSK, and I’m now just waiting for the revision letter from my wonderful new editor, Anne Groell. I’ll be writing DAWN next year, right after I write my Hellboy novel for Simon & Schuster.
Every time I think about this deal, I have to raise a glass to it. I try to think about it a lot:-)
I have to thank Night Shade Books and Chris Golden for reasons they know about. And also thanks to Anne at Bantam for taking a chance with me.
So that’s my Christmas present … and it’s only left for me to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Please keep dropping by my site, as there’ll be more news coming soon … including news on a new option on one of my novels.
