Hello 2006
It’s been a fun few weeks! A couple of weeks ago I went to Ramsey Campbell’s 60th birthday party, otherwise known as CampbellCon 60. Much fun was had by all (and much red wine as well … I honestly didn’t know so much red wine could be drunk in one afternoon and evening). I went with Mark Morris and Sarah Pinborough, and we met up with Steve Gallagher, Pete Crowther, Joel Lane, Paul Kane, Steve Jones, and a million other people. Most of whom started to resemble a bottle of red wine at around 7pm.
I was very, very poorly the next day.
It’s an exciting month … BERSERK is out now from Leisure. Scary cover. Fast-paced action horror novel. It’s always a bit nerve-wracking when a new book goes out into the world, but reaction has generally been very good (unless you’re an Amazon reviewer). It’s also strange what other people see in your writing – I’d never really thought of BERSERK as a werewolf and/or vampire story, but I guess in somes ways it is.
And next Monday, DUSK is due out from Bantam. A big fat fantasy book, this is a real adventure for me, and I can’t wait to see how it’s received. Check out www.noreela.com for lots of DUSKy stuff.
