Reality TV ‘star’ Jade Goody is dead! Oh … hang on … I can’t claim the scoop on this, because OK! magazine published her obituary last week before she’d died. Nothing to do with … well, avoiding the rush, eh? Nothing to do with getting as much cash as possible out of a public grieving for the loss of this ‘TV Star’.
Prepare for pages and pages of coverage in the press and TV programmes dedicated to her. Prepare for exclusives with people who went to nursery school with her. It’s news, after all.

Even the actor Stephen Fry has gone so far as to say:
“I suppse she was a kind of Princess D from the wrong side of the tracks….”

I think she should be given a honorary doctorate from East Angular University – (I think it’s somewhere foreign).

Actually, I reckon one of the papers should have had the balls to print pictures of all (or some) the other young women, of which there must’ve been many, who’ve died of cervical cancer in, say, the last five years.

I love the fact that Gordon Brown ‘led tributes’. WHY? When my mum died he didn’t say a fucking word.

I managed to watch TV for only 4 minutes on Sunday. Sky News were broadcasting an exclusive interview with Channel 4 horse-racing bloke John McKirrick (however you spell it). His claim to Jade Goody fame (by his own admission) was that he had once appeared on an episode of The Weakest Link with her. The sound of the bottom of the barrel being scraped is still ringing in my ears.

Ironic it plays against Natasha Richardson’s tragic death, someone of real talent. The synchronicity made me slightly nauseous.
