From award-winning author Tim Lebbon comes this harrowing tale of an epic journey, crossing the forbidden boundary separating us from all we fear the most…

To the unknown corners of Noreela, the Voyagers have traveled, returning with fantastic tales of their journeys and discoveries. But no one has ever returned from the Great Divide: a sheer cliff soaring miles above the clouds and rumored to be the end of the world. Until now.

Voyagers Nomi Hyden and Ramus Rheel would be mortal enemies if their lives and fates weren’t so closely entwined. But now the unlikely pair are brought together for what will be their greatest — and perhaps final — journey. When a grim wanderer named Ten arrives with an ancient parchment he claims to have brought back from the Divide, its arcane glyphs hint at the existence of a realm most consider a myth…and at something amazing sleeping there.

Accompanied by the warrior Beko and his band of armed Serians, Nomi and Ramus set out to discover the truth behind the legends. But soon ambition drives them apart, this epic Voyage becomes a race…and each Voyager is faced with a choice that may alter the history of Noreela forever.

Reviews:

“Dark and memorable…. Lebbon creates vivid and convincing major and minor characters, places, and creatures.” – Publishers Weekly, starred review.

“There are many things to commend this novel, not least of them the wealth of invention that Lebbon brings to the narrative… The imagery is superlative, and the battle scenes exciting.” – Black Static

“If Lebbon continues writing the Noreela stories to this high standard, the series could be as exciting as George R. R.  Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire novels – definitely a series to watch.” – SFX Magazine

The first and only book I have read by Tim Lebbon. It’s the only book that has gripped me and held on so tightly, I had no choice but to read on and find out what was going to happen next… in the hope that one day I would be able to put it down! – and that’s from someone who doesn’t really get into books that easily.

I read the book back in May 2009 on my Honeymoon after stumbling upon it on a bookshelf, I guess I was MEANT to read it! It’s memorable, Tim, your memorable – that’s why I’m here on this site 6 months later!

  2. Bodyface, Kill Her, and Fallen | Tim Lebbon - horror and dark fantasy author says:

[…] York band BODYFACE have recorded a brilliant song, called Kill Her, inspired by my novel FALLEN.  More accurately, it’s inspired by one of my two main, damaged characters […]

  3. Arron says:

DEAR GOD I NEED THE SEQUEL!

  4. Mandy says:

I recently read the book and I could not put it down. But what became of Nomi and her unborn child? I want to know the purpose of the fallen gods taking of her. Her fate cannot be left unknown, there must be a purpose to the madness that reunited and again tore apart the main characters.

  5. tim says:

Glad you enjoyed the book! But no sequel planned….

  6. Sarah says:

Found this book at a newsagent, the cover caught my attention, and this time I was right to judge a book by its cover. Captivated. Fan of fantasy-adventure AND Stephen King, this book sort of hit all nails on the head. Now on the hunt for more of your books!

  7. Chris Browne says:

Awesome book, could not put it down, but I agree, we need a sequel.

  8. Tim Lebbon says:

    Thanks Chris! Maybe one day…

  9. Makayla says:

Hi, I’m a 16 year old girl in a world that doesn’t read all that much, my friends and I in the conversation of books only talk about Harry Potter but after reading and loving and never being able to put this book down, I recommended it to them and I didn’t have it in me to give them my copy so they went out and bought there own, six months later we all still rave about fallen and read all of Tim lebbons books but my copy is always in my bag waiting to be re read again and again. So thanks, such a brilliant, brilliant book.

  10. Tim Lebbon says:

Hi Makayla, thanks so much for that lovely feedback. There are other books set in the same world (The Island, Dusk, Dawn), and loads more stuff besides those. So glad you’re enjoying my work. You keep reading, I’ll keep writing.
