Zombies: The Recent Dead

My novella Naming of Parts appears in ZOMBIES: THE RECENT DEAD, edited by Paula Guran and published by Prime Books. Pick it up at all the usual stores and online venues.
It also contains stories by Neil Gaiman, Max Brooks, Brian Keene, Joe R Lansdale and others, so I’m in very good company.
Naming of Parts won the British Fantasy Award when it was published ten years ago (wow, that’s a long time ago), and I’m delighted to see it reprinted here.

This sounds really awesome. I’ve been having a very difficult time getting my hands on Bar None. It is too difficult to find your books in New York City. I am currently reading Echo City and am enjoying it very much. The first (and personal favorite) book of yours that I read was Fallen. REALLY loved the crazy ending to that book, such a slow build and then just complete madness. I read Dusk and Dawn afterwards and I was a bit confused as to the timeline involved with the story…did Fallen take place afterwards? Regardless I loved Fallen to death!!! It even inspired a song that I wrote and recorded (it came out pretty damn well if I must say so myself), the song is called “Kill Her”. I HATED the female character, maybe I could relate to it too well. I’d love to know what you think of the song, you can hear it at whatisbodyface.com. Obviously I’m a huge admirer of your work…never stop.

Jared, that song is spectacular. Just my sort of thing – grungy, dirty, heavy. Excellent. … i think this might be the first time someone’s written a song based on my writing, and I’m thrilled with it. I’ll post about it later.

Hi Tim,
Just read Naming of Parts. Absolutely loved in. Nice twist on the entire zombie thing, weirdly bizarre at points (the artificial garden) and really touching at the end.
Fantastic story.

Hey, this may sound dumb, but is there anywhere i can get Naming of Parts by itself. Or somewhere i can read it. A friend read the first few pages and it was really great.

Jordan, check it out on the Library page, there’s a link there to Cold Tonnage which is selling them!
