The Thief of Broken Toys
November 4th, 2009 • Posted in Book News |
How’s this for a gorgeous cover? I’ve started work on this novella for ChiZine Publications, and it’s going well. It’s going to be released at the World Horror Convention in Brighton next year. What, you’re not going? Really? Well, you should be.
CZP have published some beautiful, critically acclaimed books by Brent Hayward, David Nickle and Lavie Tidhar & Nir Yaniv. They’re a joy to work with, and this book is going to look scorching. And it’s something rather different from me, too…
So, what do you think? Please let me know.

Hi Tim,
I already commented to Brett that I think this is a stunning cover. Will this be horror or df? Sounds like a great plot, somewhat like a fable. Good luck with it!

Well I wouldn’t want to pigeonhole it … although from what you said ‘fable’ might be closest. And yes, what a cover!

It’s an amazing cover and an amazing title, Tim. I’m well tingling.

Cool cover. I steal toys and candy from children all the time.
Not the broken ones though…

As for limitation, not 100% certain yet – keep checking back to the CZP website, and I’ll post here when I know.

ChrisW: There will be a gorgeous signed limited edition available for pre-order at Horror Mall as of December 1st; it will be there for 90 days. The print run will be based on the amount of pre-orders. There will also be a trade paperback edition available at all bookstores in North America and the UK (and online, of course), as well as digital editions (PDF, MOBI, and EPUB). All editions will be released simultaneously.
Cheers!
Brett

Fascinating concept for a novella, and yes, lovely title and artwork. Any chance of seeing an excerpt here on your website soon?
