Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends.

News at home: rumours abound that Borders has gone into administration. If so, that’s another high street bookshop that’s gone, and in these harsh times that can only be bad news for the UK book industry. Waterstone’s remains standing on its own … and being alone can’t be a good thing. We need competition.

Who knows, maybe there’ll be a rescue package.  The next day or two will tell.

UPDATE: Borders not yet in administration, it seems. Check here.

UPDATE 2: Bookseller.com jumped the gun a bit…

Cardiff Book Launch

June 19th, 2009 • Posted in Book News |

Tonight at 6:30 I’ll be at Cardiff Waterstone’s signing my books THE ISLAND and FALLEN … come on, can you seriously tell me you have anywhere more important to be?  The pub, you say?  Fear not, we’re going there afterwards.
