British Fantasy Awards nominations

June 27th, 2011 • Posted in Book News |

I’m thrilled to announce that I have two books on the British Fantasy Awards shortlist this year.  First is The Thief of Broken Toys, published by those splendid folks at CZP, nominated for Best Novella.  You can also see a great review for this book here.  It was also nominated for a Shirley Jackson Award, and I’ll hear the result of that soon direct from the presentations at Readercon.

The second nomination is for Last Exit for the Lost, my huge collection published by Cemetery Dance.

I’m delighted at being shortlisted again for the British Fantasy Awards.  It always makes FantasyCon weekend that much more enjoyable, and a little more nerve-jangling.

There’s a new interview with me over at the Cemetery Dance website – click here to check it out.

Also thriled to see my mate Richard Parker on the CWA John Creasey (New Blood) Dagger Award shortlist!  Richard’s book STOP ME is a great debut thriller, and I’d recommend you all pick it up. You can see more about the shortlist here.

There’s a lovely review of my forthcoming collection LAST EXIT FOR THE LOST at Shroud Magazine – check it out here.   This book wil be published by Cemetery Dance Publications soon … I don’t know exactly when, but hopefully before my next collection comes out (which will be announced soon).

Been head-down to some intensive writing over the past few weeks, and things are moving on apace.  So hopefully I’ll have some news soon, and also some more time to blog here on occasion.  Please watch this space!

New Book – LAST EXIT FOR THE LOST

August 7th, 2009 • Posted in Book News |

last-exitHoorah!  Cemetery Dance have announce my new collection LAST EXIT FOR THE LOST.  The stunning cover by the always-brilliant Les Edwards is on the right, and the announcement, in part, reads:

From multi award-winning and New York Times bestselling writer Tim Lebbon comes this huge collection of the very best of his short fiction.

His first short fiction collection As the Sun Goes Down (Night Shade Book), attracted rave reviews. Now, Last Exit for the Lost collects the best of Lebbon’s output from 2000 to the present day. Weighing in at over 560 pages and containing 150,000 words of fiction, it also features two brand new, never-before-published stories.

Of course due to inevitable delays between contract signature and book announcement, it’s not actually the best of my short fiction right up to 2009 (there’s another announcement coming soon about another collection that will cover that later period … oh yes indeed), but this book is one I’ve been looking forward to mmore than any other I can remember.  It’s going to look lovely, for a start – what CD book doesn’t?  And with that gorgeous cover, and a great Intro from Joe R. Lansdale, what more could I ask for?

Hope you’ll pop along and place your order.

MIND THE GAP/BIG BOOK OF NECON – Cemetery Dance editions

July 24th, 2009 • Posted in Book News |

gapAt long last the Cemetery Dance edition of MIND THE GAP, the first Hidden Cities novel co-written with the splendid Christopher Golden, has been released.  With a beautiful cover and design by Jose Nieto, this is a wonderful looking book.  What’s inside ain’t bad either, of course.  Go here to check out details.

necon1Also out now from CD is THE BIG BOOK OF NECON, a huge volume of stories and essays based around the wonderul Necon convention run by the Booth family for thirty years.  It features my story Recipe for Disaster, as well as many others, and is worth the price for Doug Winter’s Introduction alone.
